South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan met here on Tuesday with his Libyan counterpart Ashour Bin Khayal, who is currently visiting Seoul. During the meeting, the ministers "discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern, including Korea's efforts to support Libya's reconstruction, and Libya's support of the Korean companies operating in the country," a foreign ministry official said. In Seoul, Khayal also met with Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik, senior officials at the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs as well as business executives of the International Contractors Association of Korea, according to South Korea's news agency (Yonhap). Khayal arrived in Seoul on Sunday for a four-day visit and his choice of South Korea as his first destination in Northeast Asia since the end of the war "demonstrates the strong cooperative relations between the two countries," an official said.
