Russian Q1 growth 4.9%

Russia's first quarter growth reached 4.9 percent, the state statistics committee said Tuesday, far above the 4.0 percent estimate reported earlier by the country's economy minister. The Rosstat statistics committee said its figure represented a preliminary assessment, without explaining the discrepancy with Economy Minister Elvira Nabiullina's figure reported last month.
