Khartoum - Suna
The International Center for African Studies in Khartoum, issued a new version on the Chinese competition in Africa written by Dr.. Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed Albaloola. The book deals with the historic shift of power and leadership in the world, which began by the era of the trend towards multipolarity and the expectation that China will be the first international player in the world due to its high growth rates and its emergence as the largest industrial center in the world and second largest in the economic production. The writer attributes this success achieved by China to its success in its foreign relations which are governed by the interest and awareness of reality of the new geopolitical situations , which requires high diplomatic skills . The writer refers to China’s investment in Sudan, which amounted to three billion dollars for the establishment of oil refineries and pipelines in Sudan in 1999. He confirms that the volume of annual trade between China and Africa amounted to $ 32.2 billion in 2005, where the Chinese investments cover 49 African countries, including many sectors led by metal, banking, manufacturing, architecture and tourism in addition to China’s efforts to help African countries to improve infrastructure and completion of more than 500 projects in the context of Chinese aid to African countries.
