Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI)
Doha - QNA

Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) on Sunday announced the launch of the World Trade Agenda Report, which discusses the pressing needs for further liberalization and best rules in international trade and what WTO members should focus on ahead of the upcoming WTO Ministerial Conference.
QCCI said in a press release on Sunday that the report due to be sent to the next WTO Ministerial Meeting in Buenos Aires in December, was prepared as part of the World Trade Agenda Initiative and within the partnership between Qatar Chamber and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).  The report was launched during a panel discussion in London on the 'World Trade Agenda', which addressed the theme of protectionism and global trade priorities, which can be used by policy makers and companies alike.
The Global Trade Agenda, a joint initiative of Qatar Chamber and the ICC helps governments identify key priority areas for inclusive trade. Chairman of Qatar Chamber, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, said Qatar Chamber adopted the International Trade Agenda Initiative in 2011 in cooperation with the ICC in order to push forward the Doha Round of trade negotiations and break a 12 years of stalemate.
He pointed out that the Chamber was able, with the support and encouragement of the wise government of Qatar, to adopt priorities submitted to the 9TH WTO Ministerial Conference held in Bali, Indonesia, in 2013, leading to the conclusion of the World Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).    He pointed out that Qatar Chamber has succeeded in playing an important role through the initiative to revive the Doha negotiations which paved the pay for the adoption of the TFA signed at the WTO Ministerial Conference held in Bali in 2013, which was positively reflected on supporting Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) among countries and therefore achieving security and stability at the global level as the economies of countries depend on SMEs by up to 90%.
The London meetings discussed a number of issues related to facilitating international trade and global trade priorities within the framework of the Doha Agenda, a joint initiative between Qatar Chamber and the ICC, he said, noting the importance of the report launched as part of the Doha Agenda initiative to help governments identify trade negotiation priorities.
The Qatar Chamber of Commerce launched the World Trade Agenda in cooperation with the International Chamber of Commerce in 2013 to stimulate the global economy by advancing the Doha Round multilateral trade negotiations that have been frozen for 12 years.    The Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, work in partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), to mobilize businesses around the world on the global and multilateral "Global Trade Agenda" in order to achieve economic growth and job creation.
