
Cambodia's Minister of Commerce Sun Chanthol has urged Kuwaiti investors to take advantage of the new economic laws aimed at targeting and encouraging foreign investors notably in the sectors of industry and agriculture.
In his statements while visiting the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, Chanthol said that the visit aims at strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries and promoting investment chances for foreigners.
He added that his country has been experiencing many changes over the past period regarding encouraging foreign investment at markets and offering facilities to investors, inviting Kuwaitis to visit his country to be briefed on these laws and chances.
For his part, Khaled Al-Khaled, a member of Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that exchanging of visits contributes to strengthening and developing joint relations.
He noted that Cambodian keenness on encouraging foreign investment has positive effects on Kuwaiti investors and prompt them to carry out projects there.
Cambodian markets are promising and offer many major investment chances, he pointed out, indicating that local private sector tends to invest in Asian countries whose growth post high rates notably in agriculture and industry.
According to Kuwait's Central Statistical Bureau, Cambodian exports to Kuwait reached KD 1.4 million in the second quarter of 2014.
