Korean public firms to cut 150bn won in perks to employees

Most of the public organizations under special government monitoring of their reform efforts have completed their scheduled "normalization" plans, which could reduce a combined 150 billion won (US$147.1 million) in perks for their employees, the finance ministry said Wednesday.
According to the ministry, 35 out of 38 state organizations have implemented their normalization plans aimed mostly at adjusting excessive fringe benefits to their workers.
