Korean consumers to sue automakers for overstated fuel efficiency

A group of some 1,200 local consumers will launch a class-action lawsuit against six local and foreign automakers, claiming that they have overstated the gas mileage of some of their vehicles, a law firm representing the plaintiffs said Tuesday.
In the lawsuit to be filed with the Seoul Central District Court on Monday, the plaintiffs will seek between 900,000 won and 3 million won (US$890-$2,960) each in compensation for the mileage gap, Yeyul said in a press release.
