An Iranian official said the country's foodstuff producers are ready to supply Russia with quality products.
"Russia is trying to provide its foodstuff needs from other countries, including Iran, given the recent order issued by the Russian President which bans imports from the EU," said Secretary-General of Iran's Food Stuff Associations Kaveh Zargaran, adding Iran is able to meet Russian demands in this field.
He also said Russian officials have presented a list of their foodstuff and agricultural products needs, including fruit, potato, chili, watermelon, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, grapes, pears, peaches, nectarines, tomato, cucumber, milk, butter, cheese, ice cream, fish, nuts, olive oil, mushroom and chocolate, to Iran.
In a reciprocal move against EU sanctions on Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin has banned imports of agricultural goods, food stuff, fruit and vegetable from the EU.
Russia-EU ties have severed following crisis in Ukraine.
