Iranian Ambassador to Poland Ramin Mehmanparast
Tehran - FNA

Iranian Ambassador to Poland Ramin Mehmanparast and Polish Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechocinski in a meeting in Warsaw on Friday underlined the need for the expansion of mutual cooperation.

During the meeting in the Polish capital today, Mehmanparast and Piechocinski explored avenues for reinvigorating and bolstering bilateral ties.

"The Vienna nuclear deal which leads to termination of unjustly imposed sanctions provides an appropriate opportunity for Polish firms for boosting economic ties with Iran," the Iranian ambassador said.

Piechocinski, also Polish Economy Minister, for his part, said that the nuclear deal between Tehran and the big powers is good for the world and the entire region, adding, "It is a positive step towards expansion of economic, cultural and political relations between the two countries."

In November, Iranian and Polish officials stressed the need for utilizing all capacities to develop bilateral ties.

In a meeting between Head of Iran-Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group Vahid Ahmadi and Polish Ambassador to Tehran Juliusz J. Gojlo in the Iranian capital, the two sides underlined the long-term friendly relations between the two nations, specially Iranians' hospitality towards the Polish refugees during the World War II, and called for enhanced mutual cooperation.

Both officials reiterated excellent political relations between Tehran and Warsaw, and emphasized the need for utilizing existing commonalities.

Diplomatic ties between Iran and Poland started in the 17th century and several large institutions for Oriental studies are now active in Poland.

Iranians hosted 100,000 Polish and provided them with welfare facilities during the Second World War after Germany occupied the East European country.

Ties between the two friendly countries of Iran and Poland are growing and the two sides are seeking to bolster relations in all arenas.
