Iran exports over 6.6m tons of cement, clinker in 4 months

 Iran exported approximately 6.62 million tons of cement and clinker in the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2014-July 22, 2014), a cement industry official announced

"We have exported a sum of 6,620,958 tons of cement and clinker in the first four months of the current year," Secretary of Iran's Cement Industry Employers Guild Association Abdolreza Sheikhan said on Saturday.
In May, Iranian Ministry of Industries, Mines and Trade announced that Iran exported approximately 18.812 mln tons of cement and clinker in last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2014).
The Ministry said that the country's cement and clinker exports showed over 378 percent increase in the past year in comparison with the same period in the year before that (ended March 20, 2013).
The ministry added that the total amount of 69.68 million tons of cement was produced in the country last year, out of which 79 percent were consumed domestically.
