The Libyan interim government announced on Friday it has agreed with a delegation of the US Mirage Company, specialized in desalinating seawater with the usage of solar power, to establish a water plant in the city of Tobruk, east of the country.

This came during a meeting held between Prime Minister Abdullah al Thani, the head of the general authority for electricity and renewable energy and a delegation of the US Mirage company, the government said on its Facebook page.

During the meeting, they discussed the available investment opportunities in Libya.

Also, the Libya Premier welcome the US company’s proposal and vowed to provide all facilities for it to implement the project.

The expected water station will provide a daily production capacity ranging from 159,000 to 200,000 cubic meters.
