
Indonesian Ambassador here Nour Faazy stressed on Wednesday that his country seeks to triple the current volume of trade exchange with Egypt.
Speaking to MENA, the ambassador said many of the Indonesian companies operating in Egypt are mulling investments in the new Suez Canal project, which he described as "strategic".
He said the embassy seeks to bring the viewpoints of Egyptian and Indonesian businessmen closer to iron out hurdles blocking them.
As for Asia-Africa summit currently in session in Jakarta, the diplomat said close cooperation between the two continents is the only solution to face current challenges.
The conference will provide chances for more Asian-African cooperation, he added.
Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab is leading his country's delegation to the event.
A number of world leaders and businessmen representing 32 world states are taking part in the conference.
