India and EEU discuss possibility of creating free trade zone

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed cooperation in the creation of a free trade zone between India and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

"[Putin and Modi] talked about interaction between India and the EEU in efforts to create a free trade zone and conclude relevant agreements. This theme is actively being discussed," Peskov stressed.

He added that other topics on the agenda included cooperation in atomic energy and its further expansion. The sides discussed military-technological cooperation and integration of global positioning systems, the Kremlin spokesman said.
