IMF director: We are very engaged in the Arab world

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde said that the organization is "very engaged and involved in the Arab world," while at a press conference Thursday.
Lagarde mentioned that the Arab world, "goes far beyond the ACTs [Arab countries in transition], because there are countries that did not go through that transition which are struggling at the moment with very complicated issues." She highlighted that ACTs are dealing with, "significant military problems, disruption of the entire infrastructure, abundance of migration, and people who are being displaced." In response to such problems Largarde asserted, "We have quite a few programs in place. The latest one that was approved was in Yemen." "We are going to continue to be engaged. But this is a part of the world that needs the attention, the support and the financial support of the international community," she asserted.
