
Former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will lead a high-level economic and business delegation to the economic conference that will take place in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh in March, Egyptian Ambassador to Germany Mohammed Hegazi said.
The German delegation will probe available investment opportunities in Egypt in energy, tunnels, new Suez Canal Corridor and infrastructure projects, the diplomat told MENA.
He added that invitations were sent to heads of almost 200 German investment companies, including Siemens and other major ones.
Trade exchange between Egypt and Germany reached 4.5 billion euros annually while German investments in Egypt are placed at 650 million euro.
