EU raises growth to 1.6%

The European Commission on Monday forecast the 28-member European Union economy to grow 1.6 percent in 2014, higher than the 1.5 percent given in a February estimate. Unveiling the Spring 2014 forecast, the Commission kept the 2014 growth forecast for the 18-member eurozone at 1.2 percent, unchanged from the previous estimate.
