
Head of the General Authority of Suez Canal Economic Zone Ahmed Darwish started on Tuesday a visit to Washington and Illinois state for talks with representatives of US companies on investment opportunities in the Suez Canal economic zone.
According to a statement by the authority, Darwish attended an economic conference in Peoria, Illinois, and gave a key word at the conference. The conference brought together 500 representatives of US and international companies.
Darwish will also hold a number of meetings with US companies that are interested in investing in the Suez Canal economic zone, the statement said.
Darwish will also visit Chicago and meet representatives of several US companies, the statement said. He will also meet the Egyptian community in Illinois state to post them on the investment climate in the economic zone, the statement added.
