Chinese yuan deposits hit new high in May

Chinese yuan deposits in South Korean banks soared to a record high in May as investors opted for the currency's higher yield, central bank data showed Friday.
The Chinese yuan-denominated deposits held by residents reached US$11.3 billion in May, up $1.4 billion from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
