Cambodian National Assembly's Vice President Nguon Nhel on Tuesday voiced his full support for the China-proposed "One Belt, One Road" initiative, saying that the initiative would benefit all participating countries including Cambodia.
He made the remarks during a meeting here with Lu Hao, chairman of the Environmental Protection and Resources Conservation Committee of the National People's Congress of China.
"Cambodia fully supports the Belt and Road initiative, which is a comprehensive and long-term visionary economic strategy," he said.
The vice president also reiterated his country's staunch support for the one-China policy.
The Belt and Road initiative refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, proposed by China in 2013.
For his part, Lu Hao expressed his gratitude to Cambodia for providing staunch support for China's position on the issues of core interest.
He said that his visit to Cambodia aimed to explore possibility for cooperation in the fields of environmental protection and resources conservation.
