Russia’s BRICS partners - Brazil, India, China and South Africa - have backed Moscow’s proposals on boosting mutual trade and the group of five have agreed to continue coordinating approaches as part of G20, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after the organization’s summit in Ufa on Thursday.
Moscow has called for closer coordination in the macroeconomic policy of BRICS, Putin said.
"The partners have supported our proposal on stepping up mutual trade and exchanges of capital investments what has been reflected in the strategy of multilateral economic partnership of BRICS up to 2020 which we have approved," the president said.
Russia, India, Brazil, China and South Africa "will of course continue the practice of coordinating approaches in the Group of Twenty," he added. "At the next G20 summit in Turkey we plan to hold a traditional separate meeting of BRICS leaders," he said.
Russia’s BRICS partners will provide assistance to the Chinese presidency in the G20 in 2016, Putin said.
