
Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Khalid Abdulrahman Al Moayyad has expressed the desire of the private sector in the kingdom to develop the economic and investment ties with France and increase the volume of bilateral trade in various economic sectors.
He called for the need to seize the two countries' available opportunities to enhance the volume of Bahraini-French trade, which reached about 383 USD, as indicated by the Central Informatics Organisation.
He was speaking during a meeting with the French Ambassador to Bahrain Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, held recently in Beit Al-Tijjar in the presence of BCCI First Deputy Chairman Othman Al-Rayes and Second Deputy Chairman Jawad Yussef Al Hawaj, Board member Deema Rasool Al-Haddad, CEO Nabil Abdulrahman Al Mahmood, as well as BCCI executive body members.
The two sides discussed the date for holding the "French Week" 2015, hosted by the kingdom for the fourth year in a row for the aim of shedding light on the depth of the Bahraini-French cultural and economic relations.
They also discussed ways to strengthen joint economic ties in the business sectors through increasing coordination and cooperation in the trade and industrial fields, and increasing visits of business delegations and missions.
They highlighted areas of economic relations that can be strengthened, especially through cooperation and coordination between BCCI, on the one hand, and the French Embassy here and the French Chamber of Commerce.
BCCI also lauded the French Embassy's support and facilities through the issuance of visas to Bahraini businessmen and economic delegations.
The French Ambassador praised bilateral relations, noting that his country is looking forward to consolidating areas of trade and economic cooperation with Bahrain.
He called for the need to develop bilateral relation through benefiting from the two countries' available opportunities and potentials.
He expressed eth Embassy's readiness to consolidate cooperation mechanisms with BCCI to serve joint economic interests.
He stressed the importance of increasing the visits of specialised delegations.
