
Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoub Al-Hammer received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Li Xin.
The meeting explored aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of social housing. The meeting touched on the visit recently conducted by the Minister and his accompanying delegation to the People's Republic of China during which he explored ways and means of activation of this cooperation in response to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in this regard.
The meeting also discussed ongoing negotiations and procedures between the Ministry of Housing and real estate development companies and the relevant financial institutions in the People's Republic of China for implementation of several affordable housing projects in the Kingdom. The Minister expects that this cooperation will contribute to the Ministry's plan of accelerating housing projects implementation under the umbrella of the 40,000 housing units the implementation of which had been directed by His Majesty the King as soon as possible.
The Chinese Ambassador has expressed his great delight with the Bahraini-Sino cooperation in the field of housing, citing the readiness of both the Ministry and the Embassy to provide all aspects of support and assistance that ensure the success of joint efforts of both sides.
