Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that Tirana is making efforts to become an exporter of electricity. "Development of energy sector has become our main priority in order to turn Albania an exporter of electricity," Berisha said, putting emphasis on efficiency of electricity use. Berisha attended the inauguration ceremony of the new OST control system, in Kashar near Tirana, an investment of 17 million euros (about $22mln) through a soft loan provided by the Italian government aimed at monitoring and managing the Albanian energy system, Xinhua reported. Expressing his gratitude to Italy for the contribution over the last two decades in Albania, Berisha said that the projects of Italian cooperation have expanded all over the country and have had a major impact on the life of Albanian citizens.
