Bee’ah, a leading environmental and waste management company, signed a memorandum of understanding with Jeddah Environment and Sustainable Development Company (JESDC) earlier this month to strengthen cooperation and joint action and share knowledge and expertise to face environmental challenges and invest in waste management in Saudi Arabia.

Under the terms of the MoU, both parties will develop a long-term strategic cooperation to achieve the cognitive, industrial and environmental integration, paving the way for an industry that contributes to the diversification of the national economy, by recycling waste materials into usable products.

Both companies will cooperate in all types and phases of alternative waste management and all activities of environmental projects. They will communicate to develop future projects and prepare feasibility studies of these projects.

Under the MoU, both parties will adopt the practices which will be identified in the joint action plan, provided that these practices will be in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations in KSA. Furthermore, each party will provide the initial solutions and human resources to create new jobs and will allocate the required resources to implement the joint initiatives, in accordance with the operational plans and the available resources to each party.

The signing ceremony took place at Bee’ah’s headquarters in the emirate of Sharjah, and was attended by Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee’ah and Dr. Hassan Shawli, Executive Director of the JESDC, who signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations in the presence of senior officials from both sides.

Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee’ah, said, "We are delighted to work with JESDC and to leverage the entire spectrum of our experience in providing integrated environmental solutions for the service of our partners in the Kingdom. This MoU is a testament to our commitment to provide sustainable waste management solutions, as well as to strengthen our strategic partnership with both government and private entities in the region".

"We are willing to coordinate efforts to create a positive environmental change and help address the current challenges in our region. These endeavors will bring us closer to our goals of sustainable future to current and future generations", he added.

Dr. Hassan Shawli, Executive Director of JESDC, said, "It is a unique cooperation between two leading organizations in the region’s waste management sector. We will continue to ensure waste is managed and recycled using sustainable and environment-friendly methods. We are looking forward to further develop our partnership with Bee’ah, launching joint ventures and initiatives that make a positive impact in our communities and help promote the three R’s - reduce, reuse and recycle.
