
The UAE is participating in the 19th Arab-German Business Forum, organised in Berlin, from May 25th to 27th, as a partner country of the event.
Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, is heading the UAE delegation which includes other senior officials from the ministry and other local and federal government bodies.
More than 600 leading Arab and German experts and decision-makers from business, politics and science are participating in the two-day conference aimed at enhance existing business relations between the two sides.
The participants are focusing on sectors like logistics and mobility, financial services, industrialization, sports industry, free zones, infrastructure megaprojects, women entrepreneurs, construction and housing as well as start-ups and SMEs.
Al Mansouri, in a speech at the forum, said the historic German-Arab relations are driven by the industrial capabilities of both sides and the purchasing power of Arab markets.
The UAE, he noted, is Germany's largest Arab trade partner while Germany is the UAE's sixth largest trade partner.
The UAE accounts for 25 percent of trade between Germany and Arab countries which stood at US$25 billion in 2015.
Non-oil trade between the two countries stood at US$15.5 billion in the same year, a three percent growth from 2014.
