President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi
Cairo - MENA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed here on Thursday the establishment of a full-fledged furniture industry city in Damietta over 331 feddans.

The new city would be dubbed "Damietta furniture city" and is to provide an alternative venue for the furniture workshops in the densely populated areas of Damietta, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

The president discussed plans for the new city with Governor of Damietta Ismail Abdel Hamid Taha and Head of the General Authority for Construction and Housing Cooperatives Hossam Eddin Rizk.

The new city is to contribute to environment protection and the creation of 40,000 direct and 120,000 indirect job opportunities.
