New Suez Canal project
Riyadh - MENA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi invited on Wednesday Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal on August 6.

The state-run Yemeni news agency reported that the invitation was handed over to the Yemeni leader by Egypt's Ambassador to Yemen Youssef el Sharqawi in Riyadh.

El Sharqawi conveyed El Sisi's greetings to Hadi, asserting that Egypt supports the legitimate authority in Yemen.

The Yemeni leader hailed the Egyptian supportive stances towards Yemen in different circumstances and its tireless efforts with Arab states to face the Shiite Houthi militants.
