President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi
Cairo - MENA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Saturday with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to discuss the ongoing preparations for Sharm el Sheikh economic conference planned for March 13-15.
The meeting was attended by International Cooperation Minister Naglaa Al Ahwani and Investment Minister Ashraf Salman.
During the meeting, the international cooperation minister gave a presentation on the organizational and thematic preparations for the conference, presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Ahwani said that the conference seeks to affirm that Egypt is moving forward with the economic and social reforms and that it will strongly return to the international investment map.
The conference will also confirm that Egypt has overcome all hardships that had taken place during the past four years and badly affected the foreign direct investments in the country, Ahwani said.
She pointed out that the conference will be divided into public sessions during which the economic vision of the Egyptian government until 2030 will be presented.
Also, the economic and social reform plan for 2014-2019, legislative amendments and new legislations aiming at luring investors will be presented during the get-together, she added.
She said that the conference will also see sector sessions in which a number of ministries will present their plans and available investment opportunities.
"A total of 22 governmental projects, seven private projects and seven private-public partnership projects will be presented," she announced.
For his part, the investment minister gave a presentation about the ongoing preparations for the projects which will be put forward in the conference.
He noted that a public session will be allocated for the Suez Canal Development project and other four workshops for a number of sector projects in Suez Canal.
President Sisi demanded that all the projects be detailed to help the investors know about the investment opportunities in Egypt.
