President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi
Cairo - MENA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Saturday with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Claudio Descalzi of Italy's giant oil company Eni.
Minister of Oil and Mineral Wealth Sherif Ismail and Italian Ambassador in Cairo Maurizio Massari attended the meeting.
Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef said Eni's CEO offered condolences to the Egyptian president over the Egyptian victims killed in Libya, voicing deep worry over spread of the terrorist groups in the region.
Descalzi highlighted the depth of Egyptian-Italian relations which have a positive impact on increasing Eni's business in Egypt, noting that the company is intending to increase its investments in Egypt in the coming phase.
He voiced confidence over the promising opportunities provided by the Egyptian economy which is also reinforced by its stable security situation and the mega projects which are currently being carried out by Egypt.
President Sisi, on his part, welcomed the company's plans to increase its investments in Egypt in view of the increasing demands of energy at the Egyptian market.
Sisi also reviewed the Egyptian efforts exerted to improve investment climate in Egypt through the unified investment law that will facilitate measures for any investors willing to establish business in Egypt.
Sisi said such reforms in the investment laws will be announced during Egypt's economic conference, slated for March.
He also said the Egyptian government has already paid part of the dues of foreign oil and gas companies operating in Egypt, promising that other dues would be paid soon.
