Omani-Saudi Investment, Trade Forum kicks off

The Omani-Saudi Investment and Trade Forum, organized by the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development, commenced here on Monday.
The two-day forum aims to brief Saudi Arabia's investors and representatives of companies on various investment opportunities and businesses in the Sultanate.
The event is discussing several topics regarding the investment atmosphere in the Sultanate, including fisheries, food sector, healthcare, financial and banking services, as well as services of sectors in the logistics and free zones and tourism.
In a press statement following the opening, Yahya bin Said Al Jabri, Chairman of the Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (SEZAD), underlined the importance of the event in shedding light on the various investment and trade opportunities in the Sultanate to attract Saudi investors.
It is a platform to focus on the common cooperation fields between Omani and Saudi businessmen, he said, noting that Oman has several opportunities in the sectors of ports, free zones, tourism, trade and industry as well as other chances.
Al Jabri pointed out that Oman offers encouraging privileges that attract investors, not to mention the Sultanate's geographical location and stability.
He also referred to the investment climate in Duqm, noting that the SEZAD works on providing an appropriate atmosphere for boosting and diversifying different investments in the region.
