Minister Saad El-Gioushy
Cairo - MENA

Minister of Transport Saad El Gioshi called for paying attention to the river transport which, he said, became a burden on the state budget instead of achieving gains and adding to the GDP.

During a meeting with officials of the river transport authority on Sunday, the minister called for making use of the River Nile in transporting goods .

He pointed out that the country did not make use of one of the longest rivers in the world in transport although it is connected to many ports.

For their part, the river transport officials called for improving the living conditions of the transport workers.
