His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah visited Thursday the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah causeway project (Subiya causeway) to check on its progress.
His Highness the Prime Minister opened the visitors and media centers of the project and attended a briefing on the progress on the project which is at 26 percent completion rate currently.
The Prime Minister expressed his pride on how the project was carried out, stressing that naming it after the beloved late Amir Sheikh Jaber was a befitting gesture to the achievements of the later Kuwaiti leader.
Speaking about the project, Minister of Public Works and Minister of Electrcity and Water Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim said that the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad causeway links Kuwait City and Subiya area through a bridge across the Kuwaiti Bay area. He added that the bridge will be 36 kilometers long, noting that the causeway project was part of the state's development plan.
His Highness the Prime Minister was accompanied by a number of senior state officials during his visit.
