Kuwaiti Minister of Justice Yaacoub al-Sanaa
Amman - KUNA

Kuwait's Minister of Justice and Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaacoub Abdulmohsen Al-Sanaa urged the world to mobilize efforts to provide life-saving supplies to millions of Syrians who were displaced by the civil conflict in their country.
In statements to KUNA following the conclusion of the Kuwaiti "Humanitarian Leader" campaign to aid Syrian refugees in Jordan, Al-Sanaa underlined the importance of a large international participation in the upcoming Kuwait-hosted third international aid pledging conference for Syria to coordinate international action to alleviate the sufferings of Syrian people.
The arrangements for the conference are on full swing, he said, expecting that it would be held late in March or early April.
Al-Sanaa spoke highly about the Jordanian Kingdom's reception and host of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.
During his visit to Jordan, the Minister supervised the distribution of humanitarian aid to 1,500 Syrian refugee families. On January 17, Kuwait announced plans to host the third international aid pledging conference for Syria to raise money to help millions of suffering Syrians.
Kuwait hosted the first and second aid pledging conferences for Syria in 2013 and 2014.
The two conferences were successful and raised USD 3.9 billion in aid pledges, USD 1.5 billion in the first and USD 2.4 billion in the second.
Kuwait donated a total of USD 800 million in the two conferences, USD 300 million in the first and USD 500 in the second.
The pledged money is used to help the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and other aid organizations respond to the massive humanitarian needs generated by the crisis in Syria.
The UN's humanitarian agencies provide life-saving food supplies, water, shelter, medicines, health services, and supporting livelihoods to the internally and externally displaced Syrians.
