KFAED opens emergency centre in north Lebanon

Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) opened an USD 2.4 million emergency center in Akkar district, north of Lebanon.
KFAED resident representative in Lebanon Eng. Nawaf Al-Dabous told KUNA, Tuesday, that the center is part of a USD 300 million grant given by Kuwait to Lebanon after the Israeli aggression of 2006.
The center consists of multiple floors that include health and training departments. It is fully equipped with the necessary medical and emergency technical support, he said.
He pointed out that the center will play a vital role in providing civil defense and rescue services to the nearby towns.
Developmental projects - done through KFAED - have greatly impacted Lebanon's infrastructure and social services. It also helped imporving the country's economy.
As of yet, KFAED has offered 20 loans of more than USD 612 million. It has also given out grants worth of USD 420 million to support many vital projects in health, education, agriculture and transportation.
