Jordan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed Monday an agreement to support water ventures in the hosting areas of the Syrian refugees with total cost of 25 million dollars.

The agreement includes launching studies to prepare the water pipelines in the northern provinces, according to a statement issued by the Jordanian Water and Irrigation Ministry.

The agreement was inked between head of the Jordanian Water Authority Tawfik al Habashna and the JICA's director of water sector programs.

It targets supporting the water projects in the areas hosting Syrian refugees in the northern governorates.

Al Habashna said that the ventures will improve the services offered to citizens and alleviate their burdens.

He further hailed the support provided By Japan via JICA.
