A special authority will be set up in June this year to activate the GCC Customs Union, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani revealed. During a meeting with Omani businessmen, Dr. Al Zayani said that the authority will study all the challenges that may face the establishment of the Customs Union in 2015, reiterating the GCC Secretariat-general's keenness to create a fund or a bank to promote youth projects. He also said that the meeting is in line with the GCC leaders' directives to cooperate with the private sector for the sake of enhancing joint GCC action, calling upon to consolidate joint cooperation among GCC countries.
