GAFI: Over 9000 firms set up in Egypt in 2014

Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI) Hasan Fahmy has said 9,101 companies were founded in 2014.
"This could be attributed to the economic and legislative reforms adopted by the government which encouraged many investors to start their businesses in Egypt," he added.
The business fields of the new companies cover agriculture, industry, tourism, construction, and communication and information technology.
The foreign investments in Egypt totaled USD 2.34 billion in 2014.
