Cairo - MENA

Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail received on Friday UAE Minister of State Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and his accompanying delegation representing the Coordination Office of the UAE-funded Development Projects in Egypt.

During the meeting, the UAE delegation conveyed the greetings of the UAE leadership to the Egyptian people, stressing that the UAE will continue to support Egypt in all domains.

The meeting discussed a number of issues, including boosting bilateral relations and projects established by the UAE in Egypt.

They reviewed a plan to revive the Egyptian economy and laws enacted to overcome obstacles facing investors in Egypt.

Ismail praised deeply-rooted relations between Egypt and the UAE, dating back to UAE late leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continuing so far between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

President Sisi ordered boosting relations with the UAE in a manner that serves the peoples of both countries, Ismail said.

He also praised efforts exerted by the Coordination Office of the UAE-funded Development Projects in Egypt to establish various projects in the country.

For his part, Al Jaber said he discussed with the Egyptian premier ways of increasing investments between the two countries.

The two sides tackled also the UAE-funded projects in Egypt, which served about 10 million Egyptians and provided at least 900,000 job opportunities for Egyptian youth.

The UAE-funded projects in Egypt include also establishing 100 schools in 18 governorates, providing training courses for 80,000 Egyptian youth and setting up 78 medical centers in 23 governorates.

The UAE contributed also to establishing four bridges in three governorates, providing 600 buses for Cairo Transportation Authority, constructing 50,000 homes, and establishing 25 silos in Egypt.
