Egypt, EU discuss promoting local development

Minister of Local Development Ahmed Zaki Badr held a meeting with Ambassador James Moran, the head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt, to probe means of benefiting from EU expertise in developing governorates and localities, said a statement on Friday.
The meeting tackled a project to upgrade the Saqqara local development center and another to establish advanced training centers in the governorates of Menufiya, Minya and Ismailia,
A meeting will be held between the ministry of local development and the EU commission in January to discuss projects to which the EU will contribute.
Badr pressed for further cooperation and coordination with the pan-European body to support development in Egypt during the coming period.
