Gaza - MENA

Palestinian Authority said on Saturday that the economic situation in the Gaza Strip is very dangerous due to the blockage of border crossings by Israeli forces. Palestinian deputy prime minister for economic affairs Mohamed Mostafa said that the Palestinian Authority is working hard to end the Israeli siege on the people of Gaza. The authority is exerting utmost efforts to reopen closed trade crossings leading to the enclave, he said. Mostafa added that the strip suffers continues shortage of diesel and gasoline leading to power cut that affects health centers and hospitals in the coastal city. The government is closely following up the situation and works hard to provide hospitals with drugs, medical supplies, and diesel. He also reiterated importance of linking the Gaza Strip with the West Bank to support the situation in Gaza. Meantime, Hamas ministry of health called on international organizations to intervene and help hospitals in the enclave. As many as 24 ambulances and 29 medical trucks are out of order due to the diesel shortage, spokesman of health ministry said.
