Prince Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa
Manama - BNA

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a letter from the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al Moayyad, who reiterated BCCI’s backing of the Government Action Plan (GAP) and keenness to support the government in implementing the economic programme.
Al Moayyad extended, on behalf of BCCI board members and the trade and industry community sincere thanks and gratitude to HRH Premier for his support to BCCI and the private sector and interest in consolidating their role, as well as directives to deal with BCCI as a partner in the economic decision-making.
He said BCCI Board had valued highly the efforts of HRH Premier and the government in devising the blueprint and presenting it to the National Assembly, placing the economic file among the priorities, giving its importance in enhancing social security and stability and ensuring prosperity and sustainable development.
He said that during a plenary session organised on January 15 to discuss GAP, BCCI endorsed the government blueprint, affirmed its resolve to support the government in implementing the economic programme.
BCCI also expressed hope that HRH Premier would instruct ministries and government bodies to activate his directives to enhance partnership between the public and the private sectors as the best way to provide the best services at the national level, he added.
BCCI also suggested that a new clause be added to GAP on the need to consider it (BCCI) a basic strategic partner in taking economic decisions and developing economic laws that affect the economic sector.
Al Moayyad expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his support to the private sector.
He prayed Allah Almighty to guide HRH Premier on the right path and enable him to bring about more economic progress and prosperity to the homeland during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era.
