ADNOC Distribution yesterday launched the pilot phase of its smart self-refuelling service (ADNOC SMART) in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which will run until 1st October and cover four service stations on Abu Dhabi Island.

ADNOC SMART also enables registered customers to benefit from a variety of innovative payment methods.

The pilot phase of ADNOC SMART was inaugurated at Rabdan ‘smart' service station in the presence of Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, and Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNOC Distribution, as well as senior officials of the company, select guests and stakeholders.

The new service marks an important milestone in enhancing the operational capacity and efficiency of the ADNOC Distribution network.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said, "This new electronic service leverages the latest technology to enhance the customer experience. It is in keeping with Abu Dhabi's Vision 2030 aimed at achieving a comprehensive digital transformation for the UAE and also demonstrates ADNOC's commitment to adopting international best practices, improving company performance and meeting our customers' expectations."

Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNOC Distribution, said, "ADNOC SMART service allows customers to benefit from our cutting-edge, tech-advanced infrastructure to experience self-refuelling in a fast, easy and safe environment when they visit one of our smart service stations. We are closely monitoring and evaluating the pilot phase of ADNOC SMART and the customer's actual experience throughout the eight-month period. Based on the outcomes, we hope to expand the service, after carrying out improvements as needed, across our network of service stations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi."

Al Dhaheri added, "In accordance with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 guidelines, ADNOC Distribution is committed to supporting the UAE leadership in achieving smart governments and smart cities through implementing this service. We are keen to provide an enhanced experience to our customers at ADNOC Distribution's smart service stations and are making all necessary efforts to ensure this transition phase is a smooth and rewarding one for customers, partners and concerned stakeholders."
