Minister of Housing, Eng. Bassem bin Yacoub Al-Hamar, told Bahrain News Agency (BNA), that in line with the Royal directives on the allocation of housing units for eligible citizens in the completed projects, under construction or those developed according to the 40,000 housing units construction plan set to meet the citizens' housing applications.
Housing Minister said that 2020 will witness the completion of the five residential towns, including East Hidd, East Sitra, Northern City, Ramli and Southern Governorate Housing. The five towns will be provided with health, educational, social and economic services, and will be different in terms of architectural designs.
He stressed that the ministry will initiate as of 18 Dec 2014 the distribution and allocation of 6166 housing units in projects of Jaw, Askar, Arad, Bilad Al-Qadeem, Al-Dair, Samahige, Al-Hamala, Bouri, East Riffa, Al-Hunainiya, Salmabad, Toubli, Hamad Town, Sitra, Ramli Project, in addition to the first construction stages of projects of Northern Town and East Sitra.
He added the ministry has allocated 383 housing loans for citizens whose names are on waiting lists, stressing the ministry's efforts to meet the citizens' housing applications.
He extended thanks and gratitude to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the support delivered for the housing dossier, which represents the keen interest of the leadership and government on providing decent living and social stability for Bahrain's citizens, particularly the low income ones.
He hailed HRH Premier Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa's directives that paved the way toward the implementation of 2012 Housing Ministry's housing plan.
He extended congratulations to Bahrain's leadership on Bahrain's celebrations of its National Days on December 16 and 17, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 43rd Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 15th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne.
