Sharjah Ruler launches English language version of "Under the Banner of Occupation"

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has said that the book, "Under the Banner of Occupation" tells the tale of the periods of East India Company control and its practices in the Arabian Gulf region.

In a ceremony launching the English version of the book, which was held yesterday in London, Dr. Sheikh Sultan said that the company's practices represented the company's leaders and did not represent the British people.

The ceremony was attended by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Shurooq, and Sheikha Azza bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
