
Several important motorways and national roads were closed on Saturday, many passenger trains and several international flights cancelled due to snowstorm. The National Company for National Roads and Motorways recommends traffic participants to avoid the areas affected by snow and blizzard. Three passenger trains have been cancelled because of snowstorms and 50 km/h speed restrictions have been introduced on some sectors, the National Railways Company announced on Saturday. Because of the strong wind, the ports of Constanta, south-eastern Romania, are closed both for maritime traffic and for river traffic. According to Bucharest Airports National Company, many flights were canceled Saturday at noon due to adverse weather conditions. The National Weather Administration extended 4 hours until Sunday evening, at 10:00 pm, local time, the Code Orange and Code Yellow warnings for snowstorms issued on Friday and more than half of Romania is now under the Code Orange and Code Yellow warnings for snowstorms for this weekend.
