Belgrade - XINHUA

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced Tuesday that the state of emergency due floods across the country could end by Friday, as the situation in Serbia is much better because as water retreats from flooded cities "The scales of the catastrophe that hit Serbia are ten times stronger than in other countries of the region, but I hope that this will not be reflected in the number of victims", he said, and added that 14 deaths are confirmed in the town Obrenovac, some 30 kilometres to the southwest of Belgrade, that was most heavily flooded. Vucic said that the cost of the damages will revolve around 0.64 percent of the gross domestic product. Vucic appointed ministers in charge of euro-integration, finances and economy to apply for European funds in order to obtain money for repairing damages. The Serbian PM announced that the country declares three days of mourning from May 21 to 23 in order to commemorate victims of heavy floods that slowly started to retreat.
