A Kuwaiti team reviewed detailed technical studies on the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project in a meeting with a peer Iraqi team, the Foreign Ministry said, Tuesday. The official statement quoted an official source saying the meeting was held Monday and discussed issues including the location of the port project, the expected impact on maritime traffic in Khor Abdullah waterway, and other environmental factors. The visiting Iraqi team also went on a field visit to the location. The Iraqi officials would also be holding meetings with representatives of the Regional Organization for the Protection of Marine Environment (ROPME) and other technical bodies involved in the project. The source pointed out the meeting went well and expected results in the interest of both neighboring states.
