Hurricane Kenneth, moving in the eastern Pacific Ocean, was expected to intensify Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said. Kenneth, a Category 3 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 125 mph, was about 710 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico, and moving on a westerly track at 12 mph, the center said in its 5 a.m. EST advisory. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect. Forecasters said Kenneth should remain on its path through early Wednesday, then shift to a more west-northwesterly tack. The storm was expected to strengthen Tuesday and before it begins to weaken Wednesday, the hurricane center said.
