Earthquake shakes Kuriles in Pacific Ocean
Moscow - Itar-Tass
A seismic event with the 6.2 magnitude was registered in the Pacific Ocean water area, 217 kilometres in the south-east of Severo-Kurilsk at 5.50 Moscow time, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass on Saturday. The effects of the earthquake measuring 3-4 points on the Richter scale have been felt in Severo-Kurilsk. Destructions have not been reported, the ministry said.
