An earthquake measuring 3.8 Richter scale occurred in the village of Hanukkah of Iranian city of Kerman, the agency iribnews reported. The seismological center of the Geophysics Institute of the Tehran University registered the tremors today at 16:19 local time. There is no information on casualties or damage. However, the earthquake caused panic among the population, people fled their homes. An earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude occurred in the north-west of Iran on Aug. 11. More than 300 people died and about 2,500 were injured. Roughly 110 of 538 villages were completely or partially destroyed as a result of tremors. About 5,000 buildings were damaged.
